The BBB consumer advocates or Blackmail experts?

About once a month the UM is informed by a member that the BBB has given the church an "F" rating.  They base it on 18 complaints over a 10 year period.  As the UM does not wish to pay them $500.00 every year to get the same accreditation as several hundred Porn sites, Quasi-Dating services, and internet scammers we proudly maintain our "F" rating with that so called advocate Corporation.

Now understand the BBB is not a Government agency, just another Corporation that pays its officers well, while claiming to be a nonprofit.  The BBB does not care that the UM has over a million affiliated congregants, or over 350,000 ordained ministers, they only care that 18 people that were kicked out of the church for fraud, complained.  They do not care that the UM has a 99.999% request satisfaction rate from our honest members, just that 18 people out of one million made complaints.  Bottom line is we did not pay them their extortion dues so we do not get to properly reply to questionable, or fraudulent claims.

Members of the UM, and everyone that reads this should be aware that the BBB does not care about you as the consumer, only their bottom line.  The UM will not pay them their blackmail demands so we instead proudly wave our "F" rating for all to see.  For us with our completion rate it stands for Fantastic, however the "F-" we give them is more suitable for the gutter in which Corporations like theirs belongs.

Now for those members that are concerned about 18 complaints over 10 years I have to ask where you shop at?  I have yet to find another organization that can honestly admit to their complaints, and that have the success rate the UM holds in serving our members.  The UM does not bow down to Corporate America, and its pretentious garbage.  359,000 ordained ministers, 18 complaints, do the math, and then decide if you want to continue wasting your time checking Porn /Dating site accreditors!

I placed a team of members to reviewing BBB accredited sites carrying their logos a year ago.  As a minister, and servant in faith, I do try to find the goodness in all things.  In this case I have to admit that of Logos carrying, accredited BBB sites I did appreciate some of the photos our team sent me.  They provide that the BBB does indeed accredit sites with some of the loveliest prostitutes across the Country.  they acredit AIG with all of their wonderful executive bonuses, and they do accedit sites offering some of the cheapest merchandise yet to come out of China.

I just feel the BBB does not want us to discuss what those initials should mean, but I wonder, who rates these kind of organizations?  So what do you our members think?  Is 18 complaints out of 359,000 horrible when you have to realize almost all of these people were removed, and some charged by their states for bad checks, and Interstate fraud in other actions?  The UM did not file against anyone, just removes them, but various States have picked up the ball on internet fraud without us.

Now I do not claim we have never screwed up.  We have had 7 honest complaints that were not resolved in a timely manner, and for those we have apologized to the people.  The BBB does not seek thruth, just gossip, and dirt.  We say let them.

PROMOTE YOUR MINISTRY IN THE NEWSLETTER ADS.

Under UM privacy policies the UM does not give out your information without your permission beyond your original date of Ordination.  We do offer the voluntary registry for members to post their services freely still.  The voluntary registry off of the Forum is harder for people to find so is not used as much as we wish, but without staff to offer other forms of listings the UM has not been able to provide better, until NOW!

With the addition of the new newsletter you may now make donation to the church that reflects as both supporting the church that provided your legal ordinaton, and having your ministry listed in the new, more visible ads here.  Our intention here is not to be another ad site, but to allow members to share in the continuation of the church, and the growth of the UM through becoming more visible.  The new sharings can be requested in various sizes beyond the small thumbnail along each side.  You will need to contact that link for more information as we are having that area handled by a professional.  Let's face it folks, Rev. Hickman is just not that talented to make this happen without help.

Unlike the voluntary registry, these new ads that not only share your ministry, but allow you to promote your servicesbetter, andshould bring additional people to you.  This should be a must for all wedding ministries as we daily have folks looking for ministers.  Your placement here can cover its own expense, and much more.

For those folks not trying to run a business ministry this is a great donation to the church to continue our operations, and to maintain ordination of members. Share the work you do to a larger audience. For business ministries that are deducting expenses this can be shown as business advertising with a full deduction.  either way folks the funds are used to keep your church going here.  Without member support the UM can not  do what we do for so many, so freely.

So join us in sharing the visitors to the site.  Your listings are expected at a minimum to be viewed by over 200 new people each month that are specifically looking for a local ministry in your area.  Based in sales statistics you could use the formula that with 50 contacts a week, should generate 10 interviews, with 4 completed sales, or in our case services.  Based on the minimum averages your sharing in this newsletter should bring in 4 or more new members, or services to your ministry each month.

We expect that to be larger, but we are playing with minimums in this formula.  With the average wedding donation being between $50.00 to $300.00 each, depending on your area, your sharing here could go a long way to helping in the support of your ministry.  Based in this formula, your sharing here is basically a free gift to both you and the UM.

THE PSYCHIC STRATUM IS BEGINNING TO MOVE

Yes folks we are finally getting help in the Stratum section of the site.  Starting soon we now have members that will be offering various readings, and spiritual guidance through the Stratum.

Metaphysical studies for those unsure, or brainwashed by the traditional denominations, are not Devil, or Evil.  Metaphysical is a description basically of spiritual studies, investigations, and guidance.  Metaphysical provides understanding to those that do not accept God essence without needing worldly proof.  There is nothing wrong with needing to understand better.  Faith must start somewhere for it to become the size of that Mustard seed.  Not everyone can simply accept what others claim.  They need to know themselves.  for some this is not needed in your lives. which is fine.  For others the journey into the Metaphysical studies, and direction often opens the spirit to the greater understanding of faith in God.

THE TIME IS NOW, ARE YOU READY?

Yes the time is now to start your work in faith.  Even if you have worked in faith for years, it is time now to make the greater effort of sharing.

So many of us offer services, and direction in faith, but do we go forth in faith helping all in need that we can, or wait for them to fall into our laps?  Get up, and move!  The spirit was given to you to serve others in faith, but you have to do this to make it work.  We do not suggest that you become a busy body.  We say let others know you are here, now, and open to helping in faith.

You are all ministers, or can be if you wish through the ordination fo the church.  You felt a need to become a minister, so follow that need, which is serving in faith, and spirit.  You were called to be the servant, not just the served.  the time is now, and you are needed somewhere in this life.  Get moving.

Get a Capital One Card and the Hoard will find YOU

We have all seen the commercials from Capital One of the Viking Hoards slamming the unsuspecting card holder of other banks.  yet it seems that capital One, Citi, and Bank of america have all let loose their hounds, and Hoards of interest jackers on the majority of America.

The UM, like many organizations was caught up in the capitalone latest interest ripoff.  where we have been paying down a balance from many church projects over the years, we recently got blasted.  For no reason as we have read in so many news articles Capitalone decided the UM was not paying them enough interest on old debt.  So the Hoards landed, and the rate jumped from an acceptable 9.9% to 28.99%.  The church imediately moved most of the balance to another account, but is still paying off the last 1,200.00 of this account.

We still of course have to pay on the rest of the balance as well that was moved, but at a more comfortable rate.  Without member help Capital One will through their actions steal another 290.00 dollars over the agreed balance from the church over the next few months for us to remove the balance within budgeted payments.

I ask you our members to help us remove this balance quicker so this account will be closed, and to look closely at your own accounts with them.  If you have a Capital One Card i recommend that you close them out as quickly as possible, and use a different card company for future transactions.  Capital One seems to have taken the attitude that Federal laws do not apply to them as to jumping interest without cutomer opportunity to freeze their accounts.

The Hoards they show are their own, and it is you, me, and our churches they are robbing in their actions.  Join us in showing them what we think of their actions.  close accounts where possible, and let them know our response through the only way they seem to understand, loss of interest.

LETTER FROM REV. HICKMAN

Hello and Greetings to all;

With each newsletter I ask members to share how they are using their ordination in the world. I ask each of you to drop me an email sharing special events in your ministry.

Many of you have heard our story, but for the newer members, allow me to share again about this church in which you are now a part of. The Universal Ministries for those of you unfamiliar with us, started as a small town Church that went online to share our ideals and faiths with all that cared to visit or join with us. We work in our local community to serve folks here as well as through the Internet. The church became an official church in 2000.  We looked for ways to reach out to others wishing to share faith, without the demands of Denominational churches.  The original members had issues with churches that limited faith, twisted scripture to serve themselves, and forgot that Yeshua said over and again to worship our Father, as He is but the messenger.  though we are open to all faiths, the local church is primarily a New Testament congregation.  Or perhaps I should say a Yeshuan discipleship as we follow all the Gospels of Yeshua that shares God's great Love.  Yeshua said, I am the way to our Father.  Do not worship me, but He who sent me to you.

The Ministries are the sponsors of the local Boy Scout Troop #159 and our members are involved with the local Little League. The Chapel is available to the community and all our online members as a place of spiritual meetings, gatherings and as place to hold the many important ceremonies of religion in our lives. Over the years we have provided the chapel to weddings, Baptisms, funerals as well as weekly local meetings. Please check out the Chapel section on the site to keep track of our progress.  The Chapel currently is the process of being repaired, and has limited service due to various issues of last year's rains.  We put a new steel roof over the Chapel that is almost finished, but we are having to tear out much of the insulation, and some drywall due to mold from those rains.  Maintaining a building is always a chore as it is but a worldly thing.  We are blessed that the spirit is eternal in God, and does not need mortar, or drywall to keep it up.

Today the Universal Ministries have members in over 193 countries made up of all walks of life. The UM has helped in the forming of over 30,000 new eastablished churches and ministries offering regular weekly services throughout the world. What an amazing job our members are doing to share faith. Some have chartered with us though we do not require it. Chartering is a great way to get your organization found. Chartering not only provides documentation towards your own establishment, but places your organization on the site to share in up to 400,000 visits each month from our online resources. This helps people around the world find our Affiliated members.

With a membership of over 315,000 ordained ministers, and over 1 million affiliated congregants through our ministers, we find members doing the true work of faith. Our forum has grown to over 3,000 members sharing faith, opinions, knowledge and a place to relax after a hard day. Feel welcome to join us.  The UM grows through sharing faith, and through the donations of members, and requests from the church as our only funding.  The UM does not pester folks to support the church as most local denominational churches do.

We believe that all gifts to the church must be given freely in faith, without being made to feel guilty.  Your donations here are placed completely back into church growth, and continuation as we do not have any salaried, or hourly employees.  Church is not about paychecks, but serving others through faith.  I do feel it is necessary however to remind folks that without your gifts this church, like any organization in the world, can not survive.  Money is a tool we use to continue the works of the church in today's world, and without it, we, like other organizations can not continue.  Do not feel guilty if you haven't supported the church that made you a minister, instead of just a paying member.  God knows what is in your heart, and wallet, and knows that often the best gift we give is in service to others.  Yet as you give to other charities, or churches yearly, remember that the UM needs your support as well.  Help us to remain a church that accepts all in faith, and shares ordination that all may legally serve others.  On the main site you will find both donation links, as well as a catalog of church authorities to hold specifically for yourself.  each of these goes to carrying on the church.

We especially send our greetings and prayers to our members involved in the armed conflicts around the world, hoping you know that we wish you all safe return to your loved ones and communities.

The Universal Ministries are separate from all other churches and here to serve you.We do not limit ourselves to the doctrines of any one religion as all religions are creations of man and not the higher power most of us call God in one name or another. A true church is not a building or a set of doctrines, but a place where all can come to share and learn. It starts within the individual and grows into a fellowship of faith throughout the world. As we grow we continue to add training articles to help you with various ceremonies and programs designed to not only help you to become better ministers, but to have a little fun on the journey through life as well.

Being a nondenominational church we are constantly working to find faith specific training programs in all religions to offer that will serve each of us in our own faiths.  If you do not find items that seem to fit your beliefs we offer each member the option of helping us to create such programs to benefit yourself and others of your faith. On the site you will see as shown here that you can contact me almost anytime by calling my personal cell phone (815) 383-5251 or emailing me at rev@universalministries.com .

I remind you that I do not handle orders information. The Universal Ministries and myself personally are here to help you help others in faith. I make myself available from 10 AM to 6 PM CST (except Sunday from 11:00 to 12:00 during weekly services) to keep this commitment to those that seek help, guidance or to give you a boost in your spiritual path. Since the founding of the Ministries this has been one of several ways I serve God and as long as I have any say in the operations of the Ministries I will continue to be available to serve you in faith. This is the pledge I make to you and God in His service. I will point out that I will help you with any questions you have to the best of my ability, but I seldom keep track of orders personally and am often not in the Orders office to check on specific orders. For these questions you should contact the orders office at: orders@universalministries.com as they will serve you more efficiently than I can. Now if I haven't bored you too much I highly suggest that you continue reading as there is lots of interesting information included in this newsletter.

Go in Faith,
Rev. D. E. Hickman

DID YOU KNOW....

The Klergy Kindergarten, located in the School of Theology, offers a variety of training programs and articles to help your ministry. You will find programs on how to perform services. You will find articles on how to establish your own ministry and congregation. We recommend that you become familiar, not only with this section, but with your state's marriage laws, located in our FAQs & Laws section. If you still need assistance, please email rev@universalministries.com with your questions. Please be as specific and detailed as possible for him to better help you. Remember to include your name, your state, your county, and if you are experiencing problems with officious overly beaurocratic clerks, please include any phone numbers and names of those individuals or departments. Rev. Hickman has no problem going over the heads of such people. Many a States Attorney General has been contacted by Headquarters to remedy such problems.

There is a phone number listed on our website, (815) 889-5252.  It is the church phone.  As long as you have not blocked caller id, your call will be answered, or returned as soon as possible. The phone is available to help you with general questions, ordination information, and catalog requests questions, concerns and advice to aid you in your ministry.  For specific questions, we suggest that you use the email addresses online for specific questions, or concerns, so please check the contact information at the bottom of this newsletter.

CHAPEL UPDATE

A new roof was placed this year on the chapel. We did run into issues with construction, and increased costs of materials so the roof still needs the finishing touches that currently we do not have funds to finish, but will be done as quickly as possible.  The old roof was a flat roof and refused to stay repaired so we changed it to a pitched roof.  We still need final roofing so feel free to read further on how to help.  After the roof is completely sealed we then get to go back inside the chapel, and replace the ceiling insulation that formed mold from the water.

For those willing to donate to the new chapel project, we request that you go online to Menards.com (or visit a local store) and purchase one of their gift cards and have it sent directly to the Ministries. We do not ask for money, but insulation, nails, and other supplies needed in the conversion and building of the chapel. We will be purchasing most of our supplies from the Menards Lumber Company, as they have offered some additional discounts on our materials.

We know that these gift cards that may only be used for purchasing building supplies will best serve the Ministries AND let you know that your donations are being used for the purpose they were intended. Each person that donates to the program will be listed in the reception foyer of the new Chapel for their donation and will receive a certificate for their gifts.

A $25.00 gift card will receive a Certificate of "Contributor"
A $50.00 gift card will receive a Certificate of "Patron"
A $100.00 gift card will receive a Certificate of "Saint of Creation"

A $125.00 gift card will receive a Certificate of "Angel of the Ministries"
You may purchase the gift cards at:

Mailing address for the Ministries business office is: (needed to send the cards to)

Universal Ministries
201 N. Chicago Street / PO Box 31
Milford,
IL. 60953
USA

Other donations or contributions for the Chapel Fund may be sent to the address listed above as well.

(Please note that we usually use the PO Box for our Ministries address, however Menards does not accept PO Boxes as mailing addresses for gift cards. That is logical, I suppose, since you can't fit a stove in a PO Box.)

COMING SOON

Watch the site as we will be adding study courses and books as each item, or program become available.

Current training books are offered in the catalog section of the site which include books specifically written for UM members, not some other church.  we have both training and ceremonies for weddings, and Funerals, created to guide you in a multitude of faiths.

As always, the Gospel of the Disciples, compiled by Rev. D.E. Hickman, DM, OSD, is a highly recommended book to add to your inspirational library. It is currently available in the bookstore section of our catalog. Learn what the other Disciples of Jesus shared three hundred years before the writing of the Bible.

Book of Faiths ?

Three years ago, we added the Book of Faiths to our website, with the intent of sharing as many of the world's generational as possible. The Book still needs member input, so please email Rev. Hickman at rev@universalministries.com to discuss your offering.

BISHOPS OF THE MINISTRIES

Bishops of the UM are volunteers that have made the extra effort to serve others.  A Bishop of the UM is an appointed position through the church, but does not make the person over others, but rather an advisor to aid you in ministry.

Bishops not only try to help you with information, and advice, but work with the Home church to expand services to members.  Though this year has been shaky due to medical issues of some Bishops, they are working to find new programs to serve you the members.

Contact the Bishop in your area (if there is one) with general questions to help in your ministry, or for knowledge of the laws in your area.  If you do not have a state, or local Bishop you may contact other Bishops close to your area, or the church for help.

To view all the current Bishops, visit: http://www.universalministries.com/bishops.php

To apply as a Bishop in your area or find out more information on the Bishop Program, visit: http://www.universalministries.com/bishops_app.html

If you have already applied to become the Bishop of your locality and sent in your Bishop's Donation, please follow-up with your letter of ability as soon as possible.

SPIRITUAL SHARING

I am so glad that you stopped to read this article.  The UM established to share faith, and its prime function is sharing faith to all that come to us.  If you have not yet considered joining the church I would like to personally invite you to do so.  We do not insist that you leave your local church, nor will we tell you that to be a member with us that you will ever have to do so.  Sharing in faith is not about what some religious organization decides is right, but what you feel.  Faith is knowing that God exists in whatever form you can accept, and allowing the Love of God to fill you without needing an explanation of God.  Faith in its essence does not demand, and seldom offers concrete evidence of God, we just know God is with us, within us, and all around us.  Some will tell you that such a belief is stupid since we can not prove God.  You, and I know that such naysayers are the ones that simply refuse to accept, or have not really opened themselves to allow God's Love to enter.

Yes it is true many bad things happen in the world, and God does not stop them.  What they forget is that many of the stories, and statements of God were created in man.  It is not that God could not, and does not change events when God so chooses.  The real problem is man continues to tell others that God will, or will not do things.  God did not recently tell Pat Robertson that God punished Haiti.  He chose to make that lie himself, and make it seem that God said it to those foolish enough to listen to his lies.  Man it the greatest evil man will ever face, and even the devil knows that.  Evil does not have to cause evil in the world most of the time.  Man does it to himself, and those around man.  Man twists scriptures to please mans' desires of the moment, and God becomes to those non-believers the fall guy thanks to those that preach false words.

Now God does not need me, or anyone to stand up for God, being the Creator, and continued existence of the universe.  yet sometimes it seems that you and I must remind others not to be lead astray by the pretenders Yeshua said would come in His Name.  They are among us, they thrive on twisting, and teaching their agendas, and perverting God's Word to their own ends.  God does not punish us for being us folks.  God Loves us for what we are, and allows us to experience both good, and bad in our lives.  We are but a moment in this flesh, but we are in God's eternity in the spirit.  To be better spiritual creatures we must understand all facets of life if we are to mature to God's Kingdom.  God created life that we might know God's greatness, and art.  We are God's art, and though we are not of any one style in the world, we are indeed His artfult creations.  You are important in God's work.  God did not create you simply as filler, but as a specific statement of God's wondrous Works.  You are focal to your time, or you would not exist.

Now having said that, I will remind you that these are my words, though I see them as given in God.  God did not make them part of a book that man has edited to please man.  They are ideals, thoughts, and feelings I understand, and without any doubt in my mind, heart or soul, but in faith I know comes from God. I want you to remember as you share to always remind folks that this is what you understand, not always what God shared to the world.  Be sure not to place your words in God's mouth, or those words of the pretenders of mans' religions.  God set in place a bountiful universe for us to grow in, and to learn from.  I do not need some patent mark, or Corporate paper to tell me this as I walk in the faith God placed within me, knowing God called me to share.

Over the past decade I have walked my faith instead of just claiming to have faith.  I have lived in my faith in God instead of only an hour or so a week in church.  With each breathe, and beat of my heart I feel God's Word fulfilling His promise given to me, and each of you.  That promise is Love that goes beyond any method of man to explain it.  It is a spiritual understanding that can only come from allowing ourselves to be open to God's essence.

So each week we will share spiritual comments, and staements here in this newsletter.  Some will come from me, yet I hope most of them come from each of you.  You are called in faith to share, and to share what God places within you.  I ask that you begin submitting your sharings that we may grow fuller in god through what you may offer.  I do ask that you ignore the so called traditional indoctrinations of mans' churches so we may hear you, but accept that for many you need to talk through such as you grow in God's love in faith.  Do not be concerned if you are not eloquent in writing, or educated in religion.  We are your brothers, and sisters in God's family.  We do not need fancy words, or pompous speeches.  We only hope to share in your sharings from the heart, and soul.

I will not end this with may God bless, and keep you all as it is such a silly statement.  God has blessed you, and continues to keep you in God's essence.  We are programed to make such statements when they are uneeded by mans' churches.  Accept that God has blessed you with life.  Accept that you are kept in God.  Accept that we do not need man to tell us God's Will, as God has already done so.  I shall say as I always do, Go in faith.  For if you go in faith you are walking in God, and really there is nothing greater we can add to God's blessing than is already given.  Sometimes though it helps us to remember to continue going in faith rather than just existing in the world.

As God Loves you I attempt to dimly reflect His lead as I am merely human, and offer only what I have to share, His love.  In this flesh I give you nothing that is not already yours in God.  In His spirit that He placed within me I offer all that is mine to you that you may as well feel His magnitude.  Go in faith folks.

Rev. Hickman

World-Wide Ministry - K-E-5-S-B-G

K-E-5-S-B-G is the radio station callsign - just like WGN, WLS in Chicago  WGO in San Francisco, KHOW in Denver, WCBS and WABC in New York City, KE5SBG is a fully licensed amateur radio statin located in Tyler Texas.  Of course KE5SBG doesn't have the multi-million dollar 50,000 watt power of the stations mentioned above.  But what we do have is the ability to manoeuvre our radio bands and specific frequency so that we can take advantage of the best and clearest frequencies available.  Whil most AM radio stations are stuck in noisy, crackling areas when strong weather cells are interfering with their communication, we have the ability to move around all of the bands and frequencies to find the clearest broadcasting available.

K-E-5-S-B-G

My station is regulated by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) in the United States and there are strict guidelines which I must follow to broadcast religious programming.  Generally speaking we must work upon a Question/Answer type of programming.  So, we set a topic for the evening and respond to questions from the listening (and broadcasting) audience.  Our audience consists of at least 1500 to 1.  Fifteen hundred listening via short wave radios and the remainder with broadcasting systems.  KE5SBG will be called by: kilo-echo-five-sierra-bravo-golf.  More, too, about the military alphabet coming soon.

Who receives our broadcasts.  On most days up to three-fourths of the United States can receive our broadcasts.  Depending upon the atmospherics we can also be heard in Germany, Spain, Canada, some of the old Russian  Federation....but, everything depends upon sunspots and we'll talk about sunspots in the next issue.

We have more than sixty-thousand dollars in equipment and are not allowed to make any money from our system.  It is an expensive hobby - but as a quadriplegic I am limited to my free time fun.  I am looking forward to telling you more about how we tie in my hobby with our wonderful nondenominational church.  Next time pictures of some equipment and some of the test questions you must be able to answer to obtain a license.
